Canyon Lake Wakeboard Club

The Canyon Lake Wakeboard Club is Southern California’s premier wakeboard connection, founded in 1998 by a group of wakeboard enthusiasts committed to promoting the sport of wakeboarding. Our tournaments draw hundreds of spectators supporting amateur and pro riders alike, showcasing local talent, some of who have gone on to professional status!

Our divisions cater to everyone – from the beginner to the most advanced rider…and best of all we have prizes from the most respected sponsors.

We will continue to promote the sport by providing a “Learn to Wakeboard Day” event this year for the Canyon Lake community, as well as all Club members. The day is devoted to enlightening anyone who wants to learn about wakeboarding and safe boating. Staff members are on hand to provide training for the beginner, intermediate, or advanced rider. The Club provides boats and equipment for the day.

CLWC Second Stop

Mark your calendars for May 10 for the second of a six-part series for the Canyon Lake Wakeboard Club. MB Boats is premiering their all-new 2008 Tomcat with the new 2400-lb. ballast system with a filling to capacity in 60 seconds! MB Sports owner John Cranny, in conjuntion with Chris Anthony and Gary Smith of Epic Boats, promise to bring their always present enthusiasm for the sport of wakeboarding to the table Saturday morning.

Be sure to be ready to see some top level wakeboarding as our Open Division will be throwing it down for a cash purse. Southern California's top riders are usually on hand to sign autographs and play horseshoes on the beach.

The Canyon Lake Series has just been awarded the Podium Payback Program for all six of our events, so bring out your boards and your cameras and take advantage of Hyperlite's support of grassroots contests! We will be holding a raffle for awesome swag brought in by our sponsors, Hyperlite, Liquid Force, No Fear, Quiksilver, Cire, O'Neill and Jet Pilot. Red Bull will be providing their energy drinks to keep everybody hydrated. Also, Rock It Taco will be there to make sure everybody stays fed as well!

Our Kids club will be in full swing, including our infamous Horse Shoe Tournament, with a cash prize to the winning team, a sandcastle building contest and an arts and crafts table. Also, in our efforts to try and help the community, our Kids Club is throwing their support behind the San Diego Ronald Mcdonald House. The kid who brings in the most aluminum pop tops for the entire season will win a brand new Hyperlite wakeboard with prizes going to second and third places as well. So start saving your pop tops and bring them to the kickoff of the next Canyon Lake event on May 10.

Please make sure that you are kind to our parking security and our operations department. They work hard putting on these contests for little or no money. We have to pay for our permits for use of the levy, so unless you are a sponsor or a board member you have to pay for parking....Sorry!!

See You There!!

A wakeboard rope is one of the most essential pieces of equipment a wakeboarder owns, but it can also be one of the most dangerous ones.

Here are a few tips on remaining injury free from ropes.

If you are in the water and the boat has returned the rope to you, face the boat and keep the rope in front of you letting it slide through your hands.

Don’t let it get behind your neck or wrapped around body or legs. Keep good communication with the driver and make sure the driver stops until you can untangle yourself. Read On.....
